Shiraz

(C) 2009 Treeton Estate. Photographer: Tim Lofthouse
Grapes for our Shiraz wines are created from 23-year old vines in Treeton Estate’s Home Block and Valley Block and 9-year old vines from our Park Block plantings (see map).

2007

The 2007 Shiraz is stunning, taking out three Bronze medals in its first year of release:

  • Murrambateman Cool Climate Wine Show (2008): Class 9 – Shiraz / Shiraz Viognier
  • Cowra Wine Show (2008): Class 21 – dry red – Shiraz
  • Australian Small Winemakers Show (2008): Class 53 – Shiraz

The wine  has a bouquet of oak mulberries and spice. On the palate this wine is smooth, fresh and fruity and spicy. The wine was fermented cool and barrelled in renovated American oak barriques

2007 ‘Vintners Choice’

We selected the best barrels from the 2007 vintage to create a limited-volume reserve wine we are calling ‘Vintner’s Choice’.  The wine was bottled in April 2008 and is being long-cellared prior to release.

2009 Release date to be confirmed.

2009 ‘Valley Block single vineyard‘.  Release date to be confirmed

2010  ’Valley Block single vineyard’. Currently under oak

We recommend our Shiraz wines to accompany porcini risotto, any pasta, red meat, and other hearty dish
