Our topography

(C) 2008 Corinne McGowanThe Treeton Estate vineyards lie on the slopes of a northwest trending wooded ridge that provides gentle drainage to the northeast and southwest.  This ridge is part of the drainage divide that separates water flowing eastward into the Carbonup River and westward into Wilyabrup Creek.

Year-round water is provided by a spring-fed stream that runs eastward through the property, crossing under North Treeton Road near the pond at the Cowamarup Brewery and on to the Carbonup River.

Dams on the stream provide a secure, high quality water supply for the vineyard, using a gravity fed irrigation system. Skimmed water from the trench dam is pumped to a holding tank at the highest point on the property. If necessary, water is then delivered to our younger vines by gravity between September and December.

Purified water for the winery is sourced from our dams.
